    Role and Responsibilities

    The IBD Centre of BC is looking for a Data Entry Clerk to expedite our transitioning office workflow.

    Essential functions and duties:
    • Identify key information on patients’ charts as per training (on average 3 charts per hour).
    • Reorganizing patients’ data for greater research abilities.
    • Transform unstructured patients’ medical records into accessible, organized, and straightforward data.
    • Assures proper documentation and maintenance of clinic records according to Good Clinical Practice and company policy.
    • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patients’ data.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Students currently enrolled in an academic program.
    • Students from areas of medicine, nutrition, psychology, computer engineering, or related are preferred but not mandatory.
    • Self-directed, flexible, and can work with minimal supervision.
    • Able to multi-task.
    • Personal computer and access to internet needed to work from home.

    Preferred Skills

    • Computer skills.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Organization skills.
    • Self-discipline.
    • Ability to maintain focus for long periods of time.
    • Familiarity with EMR systems is an asset.

    Hours of Work

    Positions available for 13 weeks.
    A 40-hour workweek with anticipated hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Monday through Friday.

    Role and Responsibilities

    As a Data Analyst, you would be asked to:

    • Review the existing databases and recommend how to make refinements towards designing a new platform-oriented to data analytics.
    • Analyze the status quo of the data and propose strategies to implement data transformation tools in alignment with the Centre’s data framework.
    • Apply innovative ML and/or AI technologies to optimize the data transformation processes.
    • Work with the pharmaceutical industry, third-party payers, government, and health care providers to understand data needs and design strategies to standardize, share and integrate data from multiple sources.
    • Recommend, document, and design the appropriate processes and technology to achieve the desired data analytics outcomes leveraging the most recent tools available in the market.
    • Design and implement the data stewardships to comply with the data privacy and confidentiality regulations in BC.
    • Identify the software and hardware needs of the new IBD Centre towards enabling new data analytics capabilities.
    • Work with software development providers to ensure that data analytics capabilities match the Centre and our clients’ needs.
    • Develop reporting algorithms and toolsets to support the decision-making process in IBD care, fundraising strategies, and value-added delivery to our stakeholders.
    • Governance and Security – Establish a rule set for data management.
    • Report Presentation – prepare reports for presentation to the physicians, board of directors, and stakeholders.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Currently enrolled or graduated from business analytics, business administration, data science, computer science or computer engineering academic program.
    • Ability to work solely from home (remotely). Given the current coronavirus epidemic, the candidate will need to work from home. However, at times meetings on-site or work from the medical Centre may be required.
    • Self-directed, flexible, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills & client service skills.
    • Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
    • Personal computer and access to Iinternet needed to work from home

    Preferred Skills

    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
    • Ability to problem solve and seek out solutions.
    • Advanced analytical capabilities
    • Knowledge of SQL, Python, data modeling, and predictive technologies.
    • knowledge of electronic medical records/database is preferred but not required
    • Excellent computer skills and the ability to learn new computer programs efficiently
    • Experienced in defining & managing Key Performance Indicators is preferred.
    • Flexible team player who thrives in environments requiring ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects.
    • Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, peers, and industry colleagues/contacts in a team environment.
    • Strong process development and leadership skills.

    Hours of Work

    A 40-hour workweek with anticipated hours 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Monday through Friday; however, there is some flexibility of work hours.
